Angeline Saris Before turning her bass hobby into a full-time gig, Angeline was on the path to be a lawyer. After finishing her undergrad in pre-law at UC Berkeley, fate intervened. “It was literally an epiphany. The sun broke through the clouds, shone in on me and I thought ‘I’m not supposed to be a lawyer. I’m supposed to play music.’ After that moment, there was no ignoring it.

She soon began studying with bassist Uriah Duffy (Whitesnake, Lyrics Born). Last year, Angeline also received an opportunity that would land on the top of any bass player’s list: a lesson with Victor Wooten. “I’ve looked up to him since I started playing in my high school jazz band. To finally take a lesson and just hang out was one of the best moments of my life.”

Most recently, her reputation has merited strong interest from both Third Eye Blind and rock power trio Into the Presence, featuring Tim Alexander (Primus) and guitar virtuoso Luis Maldonado (Glenn Hughes).

Angeline now works as a fulltime freelance bassist. Playing in groups whose stylistic range include rock, jazz, funk, R&B, Cuban, metal, flamenco, hip hop and rockabilly has made her one of the busiest bassists in the SF Bay. The Filllmore, Yoshis, Slims, Great American Music Hall and the annual SF Grammy’s are just a few of the stages she’s rocked out on since her debut on the scene.

Angeline is proudly endorsed by Eden Amplification and MONO cases.
